Full course description

A practical, project-based introduction to building database-backed web applications with Python and Django. Learners work with models, views, templates, forms, authentication, sessions, database relationships, class-based views, and CRUD applications. This course is aligned with the “Building Web Applications” taught on campus (SI357 and SI664).   The online course schedule will be aligned with the on-campus schedule and during the semester, there will be weekly communication from Dr. Chuck about each week’s material and assignment.  Online students will have access to weekly office hours with Dr. Chuck and scheduled Instructional Assistant Office hours (just like on-campus students).  If students do not complete the materials within the 15-week semester, they can continue access to the instructor and instructional staff will end and the students can complete the course self-paced. This course will not have any exams – student will simply to the homework and quizzes – when the on-campus sections are taking their exam(s) the online students will have time to catch up and/or study ahead.
